Focused Practice

Kenneth Lecky and the team at Lecky Law primarily focus in property (transactional) law – the purchasing and sale of homes and land, along with refinancings. But we also practice extensively in business and corporate law, along with wills and estates. Lecky Law is located in the heart of downtown Charlottetown serving clients both within and outside of the province. We are dedicated to serving Prince Edward Island families and businesses with compassion, diligence, and efficiency. The aim is to build and maintain long-standing relationships, not simply “one-off” professional services.

We foster a professional yet casual atmosphere where clients can feel at ease. The team is positive, easy-going, and all genuinely care about clients.

We focus on providing high quality legal work for reasonable fees. We strive to provide you with estimates on cost up front. We take this pragmatic approach because it results in higher client satisfaction and fosters stronger relationships. Trust is at the heart of any relationship, whether it be professional or otherwise.

Practice Areas

Property Transactions (Purchases and Sales)

We handle all aspects of transactional law, including purchases and sales. Transactional work, is often perceived as ‘routine.’ This perception is deceiving, as significant sums of money and risk are involved. We practice mainly in this area.

Business & Corporate

If you’re starting a new business, the first thing you need to think about is how to organize it. There are advantages and disadvantages to operating as a sole proprietorship, a partnership, or a corporation. Whether you’re starting out or have been in business for years, we have the skills to ensure that your legal needs are being met.

Wills & Estates

If you have children or property, you should have a will. We practice all aspects of estates law and succession planning, and elder law. We strive to understand your personal objectives and values, so that we may structure your affairs in the best possible manner. Not only do you get peace of mind by structuring your affairs in advance, but generally much is saved in terms of taxes, probate fees and legal costs – the modest cost now is saved many times over.

Administrative Law

Kenneth Lecky also practices administrative law for a select number of clients, including large non-profit corporation and regulated professions.
